About the Role:

Deloitte India is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join its Digital Excellence Centre (DEC) team as part of the Enabling Areas function. This role is focused on functional testing, quality assurance, and automation to ensure world-class software delivery within a high-performance, agile team.

You will play a key role in driving the testing process end-to-end—from planning and authoring test cases to conducting exploratory testing and automating where appropriate. The Digital Excellence Centre (DEC) at Deloitte India is dedicated to building impactful, innovative digital platforms and products. The team brings together technologists, data scientists, UX designers, quality engineers, and subject matter experts to deliver exceptional customer experiences using the latest in design thinking and cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand the application under test and design, author, and execute test cases accordingly.
• Conduct exploratory testing and report deep analysis of the issues found.
• Identify areas for test automation and automate relevant test cases.
• Log and track bugs, working closely with developers to prioritize critical issues.
• Participate actively in Agile sprints and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide detailed and organized daily reports, prioritizing task execution effectively.
• Assist in testing APIs, databases, and web applications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing and quality assurance practices.

Requirements:

Must-Have Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including bug tracking, testing levels and types, and estimation techniques.
• Experience with test automation, API testing, and database (DB) testing.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and ability to work in a dynamic sprint-based environment.
• Clear thinking and analytical skills to evaluate bug reports, prioritize fixes, and manage documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and QA teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks.
• Strong programming and scripting knowledge (nice to have).
• Good command of SQL, basic knowledge of XML, and web development tools.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with quick delivery cycles.
